We are delighted to be returning to Toonarbin for Prelude to the Sun, a concert with a special guest artist - jazz drummer, poet and dear friend, Dan Hirsch.
Prelude to the Sun features music and poems touched by the warmth of the sun.
There will be Boxties arrangements of Bach, Debussy, Purcell, Philip Glass and Shaun Martin, along with the debut performance of Beeswax, a trio of whimsical poems set to music, the result of a year-long collaboration between Dan and the Boxties, with an illustrated program by Brisbane artist and designer, Sinead Ward.
The magnificently restored Toonarbin provides a wonderful venue for a true chamber music experience - up close and personal in one of Brisbane’s oldest historic residences, a grand family home that houses a superb Australian art collection.
Join us in the ballroom, sit side-by-side with some great Australian art and immerse yourself in words and music – quirky, soulful, colourful and joyous.
Hope to see you there.
