Congratulations Steph!

The Boxties would like to extend special, heartfelt congratulations to their Musical Director, Steph McCaw.

Steph is Head of Department, Instrumental Music at Ferny Grove State High School where she has built a strong music-making community. As members of that community (several of us are now teaching in her department), the Boxties are fortunate to have been recipients of Steph s inspiration, musicianship and generous spirit.

The Ferny Grove SHS Instrumental Music department features in recent articles in two major international academic journals Departures in Critical Qualitative Research, published by the University of California, and the Cambridge Journal of Education.

This is a major achievement for Steph and her department, the result of several years of work and research by Dr Pam Burnard and her team at Cambridge University.

Both articles recognize the work of the Ferny Grove Instrumental Program, not only as a world leader in music education, but at the forefront of education as a whole.

Congrats Steph and Pam!
