Ashreya is an oboist, singer, pianist, educator and artistic director who has performed with leading classical and contemporary musicians including the Queensland Symphony Orchestra, Queensland Camerata, Opera Queensland, the Tasmanian Symphony Orchestra, and the Queensland Virtuosi, as well as national touring orchestras for Chitty Chitty Bang Bang, The King and I, Human Nature, and The Whitlams.

Ashreya has been both performer and assistant artistic director with the Boxties since the group formed in 2014. She has co-directed and performed in all their shows, including Bound Away to Leave You, City of Strangers and A Net of Souls at QPAC’s Cremorne Theatre and in the ensemble’s ongoing concert series In Good Company.

Ashreya is co-director of the Boxties Mentorship Program and is a highly skilled and innovative music educator. She has been closely involved in the continuing development of the music education methodology devised by the Boxties’ Artistic Director Steph McCaw.
